Every classroom at Portland Adventist Elementary School in Gresham has 7 computers in addition to the computer lab. All children grades K-8 have access to the computer lab and fulltime filtered broadband internet access. In September PAES received a 2 million dollar grant from the Eduss foundation that provides the school with three software components; math, English and phonics. When your child finishes an assessment for their grade, the program creates a tutorial based on any missed concepts. Assessments take approximately 4 hours of work and are given at the beginning of each year. This is just a quick overview of the technology at PAES. Once a year, PAES hosts the Gresham Chamber of Commerce business AM. That is where I first learned about the educational gem we have right here in Gresham. All of the people that attend the Chamber meeting they host are talking for weeks to come about PAES.
